What an incredible year 2008 has shaped up to be for The Charlotte Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure!

The 2008 Race for the Cure was an incredible success. We had more than 14,000 registered participants, and we raised over $1.4 Million. Laugh for the Cure, held in August at the Belk Theater, raised over $50,000. We had a record crowd of over 550 witnesses some outstanding comedy as well as experience both silent and live auction events. This money will go a long way in our community for breast cancer outreach. We will also send funds back to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure for ground-breaking, cutting-edge research.

Because of your support, there are over two million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Breast Cancer is being found earlier due to increased awareness, greater use of screening tests, and better treatment options. However, our work is not done. Until a cure is found, we need to continue to find ways to educate the public and make sure that breast care screening is available for all women. We need to continue to fund the pioneering research until a cure is found.

We know that the economy has slowed and times are tight. That is why in 2009, we will need your support more than ever. Our grantees are counting on us.

I wanted to take a second and send a quick note thanking Party Reflections for being such a big part of the ongoing success of The Wachovia Championship. As you know, together we have spent countless hours preparing for what has grown to be one of the biggest success stories on the PGA Tour.

The Championship's goal has been the same since our inception in 2003: To bring together the "best of the best" when it comes to quality equipment and customer focus. Party Reflections has truly exceeded everyone's expectations.

Further, I so trust the Party Reflections team, that in 2005, I challenged you to deliver on a very difficult task: The INTERNATIONAL Golf Tournament in Castle Rock, Colorado. Many people thought I was crazy for suggesting such, but PR delivered on every commitment made. It is truly an achievement that everyone at Party Reflections should be proud of, and can look forward to repeating in future years.
